Go is over 4,000 years old, making it the oldest board game still played in its original form.

In ancient China, Go was considered one of the “Four Arts” of a cultured scholar, alongside calligraphy, painting, and playing the guqin (a stringed instrument).

Unlike chess, Go is played on a much bigger board (19×19), allowing for both grand strategies and local battles at the same time.

Google’s AI, AlphaGo, made history in 2016 by defeating world champion Lee Sedol, showing the world just how complex Go really is.
